LANCE L. KELLY, ART

2011

Welcome

My name is Lance Kelly and I am an artist from Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

So many young people have an innate desire to express themselves artistically. For some, that is demonstrated through dance or music. For others, drawing and painting is where they find fulfillment. I fall into the latter category. I enjoy pursuing my passion while inspiring others who share my desire to improve their art skills.

I am not a self-taught artist. To the contrary, I am keenly aware that the foundation of my art and the resulting knowledge I possess, are a result of many artists who have preceded me. In my case, those impacting my knowledge include:

  1.   study with artist and friend, Dennis Parker

    http://www.dennisparkerart.com/

  1.   study of artist Richard Schmid and his book, ALLA PRIMA,

    Everything I know About Painting,

  1.   study of book by B. Byron Price, Lougheed, featuring the work

    of Robert Lougheed,

  1.   and observation of various artist’s works in the annual Prix de

West Exhibition at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage

Museum. I have particularly admired the work of Scott

Christiansen, Wilson Hurley and Morgan Weistling, to name a

    few. http://www.nationalcowboymuseum.org/
